Hardly anyone realises how important it is for websites to be easily readable by blind and visually impaired people. In Germany alone there were 155,000 blind and roughly 500,000 visually impaired people in 2001. And the Internet in particular is a useful everyday aid for the blind. Yet hurdles are being erected, unknowingly and carelessly, that make it harder for these people to get access to websites. Images are put online without an ALT tag, navigation is built in Flash, not to mention frames, which render entire contents invisible to the blind. Anyone who would like to know how a blind person sees websites - perhaps their own - can download the Lynx browser and see for themselves that not even half of all sites are accessible. I see a great opportunity in the use of RSS feeds, as my site and many other weblogs offer them.

die eine url, also das probe-blog, die mein firefox beim tippen rausgab und die ich unbedacht bestätigte, ist grad mal gelöscht… die erste hinterm namen.
die andere, im mailaddi,ist fürchterbar im code, bin ich grad am neumachen. nie mehr ein baukastensystem vom online-anbieter !! so ists auch nicht gerade blindengerecht, wenn Überschriften als Jpg verpackt werden, nicht?
werd hier wohl öfter lesen, deine seiten sind auch interessant für Leute wie mich, die nur halbwissen haben und dieses etwas vertiefen wollen
